This half term our topic has been party time. We have been learning about lots of different celebrations including Divali, Eid, Christmas, Hannukah, Halloween and Bonfire night. The children have really enjoyed comparing different celebrations and have been been able to share their own experiences with others. Through these festivals the children have been involved in lots of craft activities including  making divas, menorahs, decorations and pictures using different media.

We have also started to learn oral stories. This term we have been learning the story of the Gingerbread Man. The children have enjoyed making story maps, learning the actions and reciting the story.

In maths we have been learning to recognise numbers and form numbers. Our ‘I can target ‘ is to recognise numbers to 9. We have also been learning comparative language like taller and shorter, longer and shorter. In addition we have been learning how to find one more and one less than a given number and the children have enjoyed playing lots of games.

Next term we will learning about Healthy Living.
